Es curioso eso de cómo tantas cosas suceden todo el tiempo sin que uno sedé cuenta de nada hasta que se tropieza con ellas. Como eso de1os que tocan elpiano y andan por todos lados cobrando tres coronas por cada gente que losquiere oír. Yo nunca hubiera sabido que había esa clase de tipos si no hubierasido por mi sobrina Juanita.

Yo he cuidado a Juanita desde que era un monigote chiquito. Como Felipa,mi mujer, pronto no la quiso tener cerca porque le daba mucha lata, la mandé deinterna a un colegio y dejé que le dieran clases de música, y como para esohicieron no sé que arreglo en las vacaciones, la dejé de ver por muchos años.Felipa siempre anda recriminándome por aquello de los gastos; pero yo quieroque Juanita llegue al puerto.

Bueno, pues hace como dos años que Juanita me escribió preguntándomeque si podía cambiar de maestro de piano y tomar clases de uno que era muybueno de verdad, uno muy caro que creo se llama Lorry o algo así. Y la señoraque dirige el internado también me escribió y me dijo que yo debería dejar queJuanita tomara clases de ese señor, porque ella iba a ser algún día una famosapianista. A mí me pareció que todo era pura tontería, porque yo nunca he vistoque los parientes de Juanita, por los dos lados, hayan sido nunca otra cosa quemarineros trabajadores y humildes. Pero como yo no soy de esos que a la fuerzaquieren que todos piensen igual que ellos, pues me decidí a mandar más dinerodespués de haberlo pensado un poco, y me callé la boca sin decirle nada a Felipa.

Al fin y al cabo que Felipa no sabe cómo andan mis negocios, porque aveces, cuando estoy muy cansado, me voy a la casa, pero otras veces me quedoen la casa del capitán Spraghe, sobre todo según me haya ido con Felipa laúltima vez que la he visto. Yo siempre he pensado que hay tempestades que sepueden capotear, pero a otras hay que huirles, y yo no soy de los que andanbuscando dificultades.

Pues nada, que cuando las cosas se pusieron difíciles con eso delcomercio, y muchos barcos tuvieron que suspender sus viajes porque no habíacarga, pensé que al fin y al cabo podría darle a Felipa lo que me andaba pidiendodesde hacía mucho, como era su derecho, si sólo yo le cortara un poco los gastose estaba haciendo con Juanita en la escuela. Y le escribí diciéndole cómoandaban las cosas, a ver si podía darse maña para aprender lo mismo con unprofesor más barato.

Inmediatamente recibí la carta más linda que pudiera esperar. Me dijo quesentía mucho no haberse dado cuenta que situación era mala, y que al fin y alcabo ya había estado pensando dejar de tomar clases y ponerse a enseñar el pianoa niños y gente que todavía no sabían tanto como ella.

Fue una carta muy animadora, hasta con dos o tres chistes como los quesiempre acomoda en sus cartas, las que acostumbraba yo enseñarle a Felipa, peroque ahora ya no le enseño. Pero me sentía muy raro mientras la estaba leyendo:algo así como cuando yo era chamaco y mi madre me regañaba porque legustaba andar por el muelle oliendo a pescado y hablando e barcos. Al leer lacarta oía todo el tiempo algo como un ruido de alguien que llora, como gaviotasen una noche de borrasca.

Y de repente me entraron ganas de ir a ver a Juanita, ya que no lo habíahecho nunca; le escribí, y fui. Ella fue a la estacióna encontrarme, y fue buenoque ella me reconociera, porque yo nunca me hubiera imaginado que ella era mipequeña Juanita. De la nena graciosa, gordita y de ojos grandes que era antes, sehabía transformado en la muchacha más hermosa que uno se pudiera imaginar.Delgada y fina como un yate, con ojos azules como el mar, cara llena dehoyuelos cuando sonreía, y su cabello como una aureola dorada sobre sushombros. Sus manos eran casi tan fuertes como las de un hombre, pero blancas ylargas.Buscamos un lugar para comer y platicar, y lo primero que ocurrió fue que

le brillaron los ojos y sacó unos papeles de su bolsa:

- Mira, tío Olaff, ¡dos boletos para Rachmaninoff!

Me di cuenta de que lo que yo debí haber hecho era patear y gritar degusto, pero no tuve más remedio que decirle que yo no sabía quién era eseRachmaninoff.

- ¡Pero si es el príncipe de todos ellos! ¡El gran pianista ruso!

Con lo que me dejó igual que antes. Pero ella dijo que era como un dios oalgo así, y la dejé que se volviera loca de entusiasmo. Pero yo ya sé porexperiencia que hay que tener miedo de ir a donde una mujer quiere llevarlo auno, y le dije que no tenía mucho tiempo para quedarme, y que mejor ella metocara algo si había un piano a la mano.

Ella se volvió toda hoyuelos y me dijo:

- ¡Pero si he pagado seis coronas de las que has ganado con tanto trabajo,

tío, para agasajarte a lo grande!

- ¡Seis coronas! - temo mucho que grité muy fuerte -. ¿Quieres decir

que...?- ¡Ah, pero fue por dos boletos! - me respondió inmediatamente, como si

tres coronas por cada boleto no fueran nada.

Iba yo a decir algo acerca de la mala situación, pero no quise sentirmeresponsable por quitarle esa mirada de felicidad de la cara, y me callé.Además,de todos modos, cada vez que me siento con ánimo de ser tacaño, me acuerdo delo tacaña que es Felipa, y mejor me callo.

No pasó mucho tiempo sin que fuéramos a la casa de la ópera, donde esetipo cobraba tres coronas por asiento. Había un montón de mujerespavoneándose enfrente, hablando tonterías y haciéndose las interesantes ymirándose en espejitos y oliendo hacia el cielo con perfumes raros.

- ¡Te va a encantar, tío! - me decía Juanita cada vez que yo trataba de

disuadirla de meternos entre tanta gente.

- Sí, yo creo que me va a encantar... tanto como si me mandaras a capotear

un temporal noreste - dije yo, y ella nada mas sonreía.

Adentro, cuando al fin entramos, había más asientos de los que yo nuncahabía visto en mi vida, y muy pronto todos estuvieron llenos. Y había muchoshombres también, lo que muestra que también hay muchas mujeres tercas yalborotadoras en el mundo, y yo me quedé pensando si ellos se sentían tan adisgusto como yo ahí sentados esperando que viniera otro a tocarles en el piano.Ya me imaginaba cómo ese Rachmaninoff estaba por ahí viéndonos y riéndosede habernos hecho gastar tres coronas por oírlo. Eso me hizo que me enojara unpoco, pero fin y al cabo, pensé, cada quien se gana la vida como puede, y quizásel pobre no sabía hacer otra cosa.

No había nada de decorado en el escenario, nada más un piano con la tapa

abierta, y se veía muy feo.
De repente todos se quedaron quietos, y alguien dijo quedito:
- ¡Ya viene! - como si fuera un circo o algo.

Y luego todos comenzaron a aplaudir, y él entró caminando al foro. Deveras que me sorprendí al verlo. Me pareció que un hombre tan fuerte podíahacer lo menos una docena de más útiles que tocar el piano. Él se inclinó muyserio, fue sentarse delante del piano y esperó a que todos se quedaran callados asu gusto. No pude menos que sentir lástima por él, ahí sentado sólito y todo elmundo viéndolo. Supongo que fue lo nervioso que se puso desde el principio loque lo hizo equivocarse tantas veces en casi todas las piezas que tocó.

En sus propias palabras Florilegia "nos transporta a un mundo irreal en donde todo es volátil, pomposo, irregular". Si ya nos habíamos cansados de ver siempre a los mismos, Alexia llega (y con grandes aplausos) con su segunda colección a asombrarnos con una propuesta que (a diferencia de las demás) tiene un concepto y una homogenieidad. Porque, en mi opinión, ella se preocupa más por vestir a una mujer actual - y aunque, tal vez, ella se identifique - que en vestirse a si misma.

ARAKI NOBUYOSHI

Nobuyoshi Araki , es un fotógrafo japonés, artista contemporeaneo proveniente de Tokio. Ha sido asiduamente acusado por grupos feministas de misógino debido al contenido de muchas de sus fotografías.
Araki estudió fotografía en la universidad y más tarde se va a trabajar a una agencia publicitaria en Dentsu, donde contrae matrimonio con Yoko en 1971. Después de la boda, publica un libro de fotografías de su mujer tomadas durante la luna de miel que titula Sentimental Journey. Yoko muere en 1990 a causa de un cáncer de ovario. Las fotos tomadas durante sus últimos días están recogidas en el libro Winter Journey.
Sus trabajos siempre le han aportado una gran notoriedad entre el público japonés e internacional, sus fotografías, siempre acompañadas de textos en forma de diario íntimo, fueron precursores e innovadoras con las tendencias artísticas del momento. Más tarde, bien conocido por las fotografías que documentaban la industria sexual japonesa y enfocando el barrio de Kabukicho de Shinjuku en Tokio en 1980, Araki publica Tokyo Lucky Hole.
En 2005 Travis Klose realizó un documental sobre su arte titulado Arakimentari.

El jueves en la galeria ESPACIO MÍNIMO en Madrid, España, se inagura la exposicion Dusk & Dawn de Erwin Olaf.

Es una serie de fotografías, con la misma basica composición haciendo una comparación con el blanco y el negro, el amanecer y el anochecer... y todos los opuestos. Dos retratos familiares en salas casi identicas. (Facilmente se podría hacer una lectura sobre el rechazo a las minorias.)

in Amsterdam since the early 80's. His current studio is situated in a former
church hall.
Mixing photojournalism with studio photography, Olaf emerged in

Erwin Olaf es un multipremiado fotografo y videosta, ha trabajado con marcas como BMW y Nintendo; hace poco se presentó en el ASVOFF (A Shaded View On Fashion Film) en Japón. Sin duda tiene merecido el reconocimiento, espero ver más de él muy pronto.

Lately I've been watching a couple of interesting french films, that I consider are worth mentioning, even though they hasn't got very strong storys, they have a very good art and photography direction, and they all have very good scenery, scenographers and production design as well.

The first one is:

Le parfum de la dame en noir

The story revolves in solving a murder, but it has a comic edge to it, it's not for everyone to en joy, it's not typical in any way, and it's far away from your common comedy mysteries, it defenetly has french humor and not every one will understand it as comedy.
But even if the story isn't for everyone, if you like film, photography, design, etc...It's a good movie to look at another style of film.

L'heure d'été

It is a very slow story, but every single detail of the locations and the positioning of the camera has it's own life, it's telling you things that the story is not, and it's worth the watch only for those little things that may seem insignificant, but sometimes details are the most important.
The story is about this family (which the main characters ar e the brothers and sister) that doesn't get together very often, every one leads a very different and separate life, but they all get reunited to visit their mother and grandmother for he r birthday, several months after which she dies, and her inheritance is the what the story is all about, and how the family shapes their problems around it.

Faubourg 36

This film although tragedy is part of it, it still has a happy ending, although it's not the typical Hollywood one, and I think that is what gives it a very good twist, it is a greatly designed film with a lot of color and magic, even if it's not fantastical or has a totally fluent story line. The set in which they worked on, which would be THE faubourg, is a very nice part of the film, and it inspired me a lot, so I recomend for anyone interested in scenographie, to check this film out, it has a lot of material.
The story is about the neighbourhood and a theatr called the Chansonia, and the crossings, and the happenings around that.

Hoy en el museo Carrillo Gil (http://www.museodeartecarrillogil.com/) se inauguraron tres exposiciones: De la tierra a la luna, Yo uso perfume para ocupar más espacio, y Ventanilla única. La primera sobre el hombre en la luna a 40 años de el lanzamiento del apolo 11, la segunda es una critica sobre el snobismo y el desempeño del artista contemporáneo. Ventanilla única es una exposición sobre el artista Yoshua Ókon, mexicano que estudió en Canadá y Los Ángeles en los noventas y desde los cuales ha vivido alternadamente en México y Estados Unidos.

Precisamente en la segunda, entre figurines y fotografías de Dalí, Picasso y Van Gogh, en un ambiente completamente familiar/escolar es que vi a Magos Herrera, ahí tan perfectamente bella; (y es que no solamente es el artista de Jazz más importante que ha producido México sino que también es guapa jaja) y tampoco me sorprende pues el curador es Willy Kautz, el productor de Magos es Alex Kautz... veamos, hermano? coincidencia? humm?
Bueno, les decía, la exposición es muy buena ¡Vayan! estará hasta enero de 2010.
En otras noticias tristes, Irving Penn murió hoy en Nueva York a los 92 años, Irving sería uno de los artistas mas influyentes y tempranos en el mundo fotográfico de la moda.

Con eso de que "now i'm writing letters to Australia, i'm trhowing bottles out to sea", y es que desde que la señorita Honey se fue a esa isla perdida en el medio de la nada, el blog se habia quedado abandonado.
Ayer pensaba "hum... ¿como se llama esa chica de Twilight?" y recordé ¡Kristen Stewart! y es que el otro día había visto una sesión buena que le habian hecho. No tardé en dirigirme a mi buscador de elección y encontré las fotos que le habían tomado para el issue octubre/noviembre de Interview Magazine. (corran a comprarla)
Están maravillosas, sus ojos (esa mirada), es que ella es tan mala grrr, love her. (Y los lentes de moñito de leopard print más grrr grrr grrr)

Ayer estaba viendo MTV y salió el vídeo de Poker Face de Lady Gaga, para mi sorpresa censuraron ciertas palabras; russian roulette, gun y muffin, es simplemente ridículo. Pero para que la señorita Gaga nos explique a que se refieren esas cosas les dejo la siguiente entrevista, además es tan graciosa.

Estoy seguro que para éstas alturas ya todos habrán visto el trailer de la versión de Alice in Wonderland de Tim Burton que saldrá en marzo del próximo año. Inspirada en los clásicos de Lewis Carrol, los historias se revuelven para semejar la versión de 1951 de Disney (y lo digo por la cabeza agrandada de Helena Bonham Carter como la reina de corazones). Y precisamente son los efectos los que harán la nueva versión tan entretenida. El Cast suena maravilloso, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter y bueno Johnny Depp - aunque no me caiga bien y en definitiva no termine de digerir el porqué, pienso, la historia tendrá tanto peso en él.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland y Through the Looking Glass and what Alice Found There, han tenido un vasto número de adaptaciones para la pantalla; desde 1903 la pequeña pieza de nueve minutos del inglés Cecil Hepworth, la versión de disney, una versión ochentera para televisión y otra versión noventera - también para televisión - que contaría con un cast de gran fama, como Whoopie Goldberg interpretando al gato y Robbie Coltrane, conocido por su actuación como Hagrid en Harry Potter, interpretando a Tweedledum.

Hace poco hojeaba la publicación de éste mes de In Fashion México y había un spread con alución a Alice, y que pretendo entender es debido a la película.

Ya antes la inspiración aliciana nos había regalado cosas como el vídeo de Gwen Stefani What you waiting for? dirigido por Francis Lawrence, director de Constantine y I Am Legend.

Sin duda un gran vídeo, de un gran sencillo, con un gran vestuario hecho por John Galliano.

Por ultimo les dejo el comercial que hizo Floria Sigismondi, directora de vídeos musicales tales como O' Sailor de Fionna Apple y Fighter de Christina Aguilera, para la colección de Hello Kitty de Mac Cosmetics. Bastante Alicesco.

Ya veremos que tal está la versión de Burton, el cinco de marzo y criticaremos a gusto.

Como diría Kanye en la canción de Madonna*, can you get any more fresh now? i think i just did, just now... ésta "predicción" pareció volverse realidad con su disco 808s and heartbreak, el disco se alejaba de el hip hop tradicional. Con una base de un tambor 808, canto en vez de rap y letras sobre desamor; el disco se vuelve un viaje desde el primer track y en definitiva se aleja de sus trabajos anteriores.

En Say You Will Kanye entra lentamente, en un cuestionamiento/confusión sobre lo que quiere que la chica haga y lo que sucede - el track se extiende con musica instrumental y coros que lamentan el amor perdido por tres minutos más; y nos da la bienvenida, Welcome to heartbreak. A partir de ese punto el disco tomará un ritmo diferente, pero siempre con los tambores con semblanza tribal y las líricas despechadas.

A continuación entra Heartless, quizás la canción más cercana al hip-hop tradicional, y es seguida por Amazing que mantiene la misma sensación hopper con la colaboración de Young Jeezy.

En una repetición simple de una base hecha con 808 entra el que sería el primer sencillo - Love Lockdown - hacia el primer verso entra el piano y para el coro los tamborazos reminicentes de las tribus africanas, cosa que se haría más obvia en el vídeo.

A lo largo de las siguientes tres canciones (Paranoid, Robocop, y Street lights) habrá una vibra mucho más pop y mucho más electrónica. Bad News, se entrega triste con la utilización de cuerdas y finaliza con una larga secuencia musical que abre paso al que es, en mi opinión, el momento más emotivo del disco.

Lil Wayne recita "my sight is better tonight and i might see you in my nightamres" y es seguido entre delays y filtros que cortan la voz de West, gritando "tell everybody that you know, that I don't love you no more".

Finalmente el disco cierra con Coldest Winter, una perfecta mezcla de todos los elementos anteriores.

Aunque no haya vendido más que con Gold Digger definitivamente 808s & Heartbreak es algo fresco, un respiro que el mundo necesitaba. Fácil de digerir, bailable y aún así con cierto nivel lírico. No por nada se llevó la aclamación de la crítica y ganó un Brit Award por mejor artista internacional masculino - que alimentó su ya grande ego.

Hace relativamente poco fui al cine, y me topé con que estaba Mister Lonely así que me aventuré a verla. Hace como 3 años que salió en EE UU pero como siempre todo llega tarde a nuestro querido país.
Había sido todo un chisme, Diego Luna como Michael Jackson! y a la hora de la hora ni quien la vaya a ver; que es una lástima.
Toda la película tiene una onda onírica rara, buenísima. Todo empieza con la imagen de Diego vestido como Michael en un go-kart con un mono flotando trás de él, en camara lenta, mientras se escucha la canción de Bobby Vinton (cuya otra canción suya le daría el nombre a una película de David Lynch cof cof Blue Velvet cof cof), Mr. Lonely por supuesto.
Luego en la escena donde la monja se cae del avión, que bonita escena - no supe si reír o llorar, así que hice ambas, no cuento más.
Aunque al principio no creí que me sorprendiera, la película lo logró; tanto el guión, como la actuación de Diego, como la dirección de Harmony Korine (que por cierto que bonito nombre), como el arte... pero bueno, si alguna vez te preguntaste que pasaría si Marilyn Monroe se casara con Charles Chaplin definitivamente tienes que ver ésta película.

*quería dejar el trailer pero como le quitaron el audio, no good.

btw, otras peliculas paraa las cuales hay que estar a la expectativa son Precious y Paper Heart.

I woke up this morning, not knowing what to expect.
I knew there was something important about to happen, but agiain, I always do
There was something coming, and my heart kept pounding to the drum beat beeing plaid, probably in the back of my head.
The phone ringing in a corridor far away, made me come back to reallity.

All my dreams suddenly snatched out of my head.
I went blank, and with no warning, my boddy shot down and collapsed on the ground.

I finally woke up, to huming sound, a lullabay my grandma used to ing to me when I was young.
My full of memories, began to dream again.
I could see a big garden, so extensive that it touched the horizon,
I could smell every flower my mind popped up infront of me.
Every smell felt so real, that I couldn't belive it was just a dream, so i tried to pinch myself, tried to wake myself up, to prove to everyone that what I was seeing was so real, I couldn't wake up.
Sundelly I felt my eyes parting, and unconciously letting in the light of the room, my vision was very blurry, but the smell never faded, I could feel a smile curling up my lips. When I was about to move I heard a voice say:

- Emma, can you hear me?

She sounded scaired, but didn't understand why at first, I had a look around once my sight came back, I saw in her hands a bottle of flower scented liquid, which I guessed, was to try and bring me back to the real world. When I saw what had caused that panicked voice come out of my sisters mouth, I screamed until I had no breath left.
I could see a river of blood stainig my dress up till the hem, I couldn't understand what was happening at the time, firt I thought it was my monthly blood visit, but then after the shock passed, and I could think more clearly I realized it was an abnormal amount of blood that was rushing out of me, like if it were scared of something inhabiting my insides, I was loosing blood per minute, and I didn't know how to stop it, so the only thing my boddy could do, was to go into an uncouscious state again.

I woke up in a white room with a horrid stench.
Looking around the room, I could recognize some of the things, I could see beautiful harvested flowers from our house garden, on a parallel couch to my bed, there was evedence that led to the suspicion that my sister had been sleeping on it for several days.
Out of the blue I heard a beeping sound coming from my right, it was very constant, like the rythm of my heart, and then it hit me, I was in a hospital, and then I remembered the previous events, and understood what I was doing there.

A few minutes after my realization, a doctor came into the room to check up on me, when he saw I was awake, he tried to make me comunicate, so he started asking a couple of questions.

- Miss Doyle, how are you feeling?

But I only stared right at him, not that I couldn't answer because I was ill, but while he asked me, he gazed right at me with those penetrating eyes, I just los my breath, I couldn't get a word out of my mouth, and he kept on staring, untill I finally had to look away or would start crying, because, in all my life, wich is not much, but enough to know this, I have never seen such a beautifully breathtaking face, those eyes would melt whatever fell under their spell, and that moutn beautifully shaped, could hug you forever if you let them cath you.

After looking away, and without looking back, I tried to speak, but he beat me to it by asking:

- Miss Doyle can you hear me?
- Yes. I answerd, blushed and ashamed.

He saw that, so he said he would come back in about half an hour to explain everithing to me, and in the mean time, he would send my sister in for us to catch up and for her to take in the good news of my recent recovery.

When she came in, the first thing she did was to come near my bed and hug me, while the water drained out of her body as tears. I wanted to ask her what had happend, but her crying moans filled every corner in the room, so I waited untill she had no tears left to cry, and she explained me.
All the bood loss was due to the miscarriage of a pregnancy I wasn't even aware about yet, it was a one and a half months pregnancy. There where problems with the embryos chromosoms, and it was natures way of ending a prengnancy in which the child will be unable to survive.
The doctor came back just when my sister finished talking and Iwas about to ask her all the questions that lined up in my mind. He looked at me, and I began to cry, I could feel myself blushing, but I didn't care anymore, I stared right at him and asked to tell me what my sister had just told me, I needed to hear it again.
So he explained me everithing and answered all my questions.
He explained how this was a miscarriage of chromosomal anomalities, where there where problems in the chromosoms of the embryo, which is the most common reason for loss of pregnancy, and are found in more than half of miscarriages occuring in the first thirteen weeks.
Miscarriages apparently eliminate about ninety-five percent of fertilized eggs or embryos with genetic problems, its natural selection.
He explained how this spontanious abortions of this type, usually occur before the woman even knows she's pregnant.

I had to ask:

- Was it my fault? Am I defective somehow?
- No. Most chromosomal problems happen by chance, and have nothing to do with the parents. They are unlikely to recur. He said I couldn't breath, I fealt my throat closing, and I imagined a hand squeezing my lungs and taking out the air in them, and out of nowere I was hyperventilating. He took my left hand and right shoulder and stabilized me, looked right into my eyes and said: - You need to take small chunks of air, and try to steady your breathing, your expereancing a panic attack, and if you don't calm down, you will faint. He instructed. While trying to steady myself I kept on looking at his eyes, and as near as he was I could see the beautiful clowd gray colored eyes where probably with the right lightI could see a clear reflexion of myself, his hair, a very dark black hair, medeum length for a man that framed his rectangle shaped face, he had short side burns that matched the color of his hair, and a golden skin that shone in the sun light. He had very stong hands, I knew that because his grip on my sholder, and toned arms, even though I could only see his fore arm due to the robe he had on him, but still I could tell. I found peace in his eyes and started breathing evenlly little by little until I I was back to the normal breathing rhythm.

-Can I have a glass of water, please? I croaked

He looked at my sister, and she handed me the glass on the night stand next to my “bed”, if you can call them beds, I can’t believe how uncomfortable they are, I wish I were home tucked in my warm bed, safe from the world. I drank the water in gulp, but my mouth still felt dry.

-For how long was I out? I asked.

-You lost a lot of blood, which leads to a decrease of oxygen in the brain, and naturally your body entered a coma state for three weeks and two days. He explained

Three weeks. That’s a long time to be asleep, what had I missed? Did my sister get scared for me? Do my parents know I’m here? I have so many questions that are drilling a hole in my heart, I feel so empty, like if my essence had been forced out of me, and only my body remains.

-Are mom and dad here? I asked quietly to my sister.

-No, they just missed you, they went for a bite to eat twenty minutes ago. She said with sad eyes, probably taking in my state.

So, with all that information floating in my mind, and the shock blocking my ideas, I was pretty much out for the rest of the evening.
I woke up at about two thirty in the morning, to see my dad, lying on the couch near my bed.

-Dad, are you awake? I said cautiously.

-Hello darling, how did you sleep? He answered with a tired voice.

-It was a dreamless sleep. How did you sleep? Did I wake you?

-No honey, I havn't been able to fall a sleep since you where interned in the hospital.

I said nothing to that, it's not that I didn't want, I just didn't know how to reply to such an honest and painful answer.

-The doctor said you will be better in a week, and we can take you home then.

There was a moment of pause.

-Dad, I'm scared. I said with my eyes closed.

I couldn't belive I was saying this, I was the tough one in the familly, but the recent events had left me with no strength to keep up that ilusion. I wanted to be there for my dad, to be the tough one, asume my role in the familly, but every part of me, reminded me I had no strength to hold on to, that I was alowed to be weak in a moment like this, but it still felt weared, confessing myself to my dad.
His face went hard with pain and frustration, I know he would have wanted to do more, he wished it hadn't been me, but as it was me, he blamed himself for my misery. I wanted to confort him, but I didn't know how.

-The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be the beginning. Was all I said

He knew what I meant, Ivy Baker Priest, had been a recent topic in family discussions, my sister is studying political science, and she made her thesis about Ivy Baker Priest, and she made us well aware of her existence.

We stayed there staring at each other until we both eventually fell asleep.

This is one of my favorite poems of all times, and I wanted to share it with you.

When I was in elementary school, they made a contest, where whom ever wanted to participate, could, and so I did. The contest was to make a drawing, just exactly as the poem described you to, step by step. I don't know where my drawing ended up, and I recall I didn't win, but it is still a grand memory I cherish, because at the time, while reading it and painting it, every bit of me felt powerful, and even if it just was my imagination, wings grew upon my back and my feet where barely touching the ground, and suddenly I was flying over my school, watching every little detail that went by, it was marvelous.
