JaConfetti consist of the two girls Yvone Coco (Josephine Philip) & Ella Mau (Ane Trolle). They bring a universe of confetti and joy, spread out in a colorful variation of many different genres going from heavy beats to sweet balkan. Some might describe it as LSD-pop. On their powerful Rain Dears they travel around in the JaConfetti world, meeting good and bad, fun and dull, and through their songs they tell stories about what they experience. In May 2007 they released their first single "Hold Nu Kay", which immediately became a heavy rotated song on the Danish radios. They started out their project in December 2005. Their first album "The Rainbow Express", came out August 27th 2007. After "Hold Nu Kay", "Step Up" came as the second single, and also that one has been heavy played on the Danish radios. Both girls have a background in freestyling as Mc's with a great deal of different Dj's and bands mainly in the genre going from experimental hip hop, breakbeats, dub/reggae, electro and drum'n'base... They are working with many different producers such as Thomas Troelsen, Kasper Bj..rke, Prinz Valium aka Eddie Confetti, Buda, Pato, Abdullah S & Stunn Gunn, Domer, Ben Horn...

Hoy en el museo Carrillo Gil (http://www.museodeartecarrillogil.com/) se inauguraron tres exposiciones: De la tierra a la luna, Yo uso perfume para ocupar más espacio, y Ventanilla única. La primera sobre el hombre en la luna a 40 años de el lanzamiento del apolo 11, la segunda es una critica sobre el snobismo y el desempeño del artista contemporáneo. Ventanilla única es una exposición sobre el artista Yoshua Ókon, mexicano que estudió en Canadá y Los Ángeles en los noventas y desde los cuales ha vivido alternadamente en México y Estados Unidos.

Precisamente en la segunda, entre figurines y fotografías de Dalí, Picasso y Van Gogh, en un ambiente completamente familiar/escolar es que vi a Magos Herrera, ahí tan perfectamente bella; (y es que no solamente es el artista de Jazz más importante que ha producido México sino que también es guapa jaja) y tampoco me sorprende pues el curador es Willy Kautz, el productor de Magos es Alex Kautz... veamos, hermano? coincidencia? humm?
Bueno, les decía, la exposición es muy buena ¡Vayan! estará hasta enero de 2010.
En otras noticias tristes, Irving Penn murió hoy en Nueva York a los 92 años, Irving sería uno de los artistas mas influyentes y tempranos en el mundo fotográfico de la moda.

Estoy seguro que para éstas alturas ya todos habrán visto el trailer de la versión de Alice in Wonderland de Tim Burton que saldrá en marzo del próximo año. Inspirada en los clásicos de Lewis Carrol, los historias se revuelven para semejar la versión de 1951 de Disney (y lo digo por la cabeza agrandada de Helena Bonham Carter como la reina de corazones). Y precisamente son los efectos los que harán la nueva versión tan entretenida. El Cast suena maravilloso, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter y bueno Johnny Depp - aunque no me caiga bien y en definitiva no termine de digerir el porqué, pienso, la historia tendrá tanto peso en él.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland y Through the Looking Glass and what Alice Found There, han tenido un vasto número de adaptaciones para la pantalla; desde 1903 la pequeña pieza de nueve minutos del inglés Cecil Hepworth, la versión de disney, una versión ochentera para televisión y otra versión noventera - también para televisión - que contaría con un cast de gran fama, como Whoopie Goldberg interpretando al gato y Robbie Coltrane, conocido por su actuación como Hagrid en Harry Potter, interpretando a Tweedledum.

Hace poco hojeaba la publicación de éste mes de In Fashion México y había un spread con alución a Alice, y que pretendo entender es debido a la película.

Ya antes la inspiración aliciana nos había regalado cosas como el vídeo de Gwen Stefani What you waiting for? dirigido por Francis Lawrence, director de Constantine y I Am Legend.

Sin duda un gran vídeo, de un gran sencillo, con un gran vestuario hecho por John Galliano.

Por ultimo les dejo el comercial que hizo Floria Sigismondi, directora de vídeos musicales tales como O' Sailor de Fionna Apple y Fighter de Christina Aguilera, para la colección de Hello Kitty de Mac Cosmetics. Bastante Alicesco.

Ya veremos que tal está la versión de Burton, el cinco de marzo y criticaremos a gusto.

Como diría Kanye en la canción de Madonna*, can you get any more fresh now? i think i just did, just now... ésta "predicción" pareció volverse realidad con su disco 808s and heartbreak, el disco se alejaba de el hip hop tradicional. Con una base de un tambor 808, canto en vez de rap y letras sobre desamor; el disco se vuelve un viaje desde el primer track y en definitiva se aleja de sus trabajos anteriores.

En Say You Will Kanye entra lentamente, en un cuestionamiento/confusión sobre lo que quiere que la chica haga y lo que sucede - el track se extiende con musica instrumental y coros que lamentan el amor perdido por tres minutos más; y nos da la bienvenida, Welcome to heartbreak. A partir de ese punto el disco tomará un ritmo diferente, pero siempre con los tambores con semblanza tribal y las líricas despechadas.

A continuación entra Heartless, quizás la canción más cercana al hip-hop tradicional, y es seguida por Amazing que mantiene la misma sensación hopper con la colaboración de Young Jeezy.

En una repetición simple de una base hecha con 808 entra el que sería el primer sencillo - Love Lockdown - hacia el primer verso entra el piano y para el coro los tamborazos reminicentes de las tribus africanas, cosa que se haría más obvia en el vídeo.

A lo largo de las siguientes tres canciones (Paranoid, Robocop, y Street lights) habrá una vibra mucho más pop y mucho más electrónica. Bad News, se entrega triste con la utilización de cuerdas y finaliza con una larga secuencia musical que abre paso al que es, en mi opinión, el momento más emotivo del disco.

Lil Wayne recita "my sight is better tonight and i might see you in my nightamres" y es seguido entre delays y filtros que cortan la voz de West, gritando "tell everybody that you know, that I don't love you no more".

Finalmente el disco cierra con Coldest Winter, una perfecta mezcla de todos los elementos anteriores.

Aunque no haya vendido más que con Gold Digger definitivamente 808s & Heartbreak es algo fresco, un respiro que el mundo necesitaba. Fácil de digerir, bailable y aún así con cierto nivel lírico. No por nada se llevó la aclamación de la crítica y ganó un Brit Award por mejor artista internacional masculino - que alimentó su ya grande ego.

*Beat Goes On del disco Hard Candy de Madonna, escrita y producida en colaboración con Pharrel Williams y Madonna.

I love this song, I think it's amazing, and I love the rythm and the lyrics and the feeling I get when I listen to it, it's just magiv¡cal and very romanticlike
